As 2023 winds down, we want to thank you, our customer family, for choosing Nussbaum. The market was challenging this year, but your partnership enabled us to stay profitable and productive.
We believe God owns this business, and we’re just stewards for a season. Part of that stewardship is “re-investing” our resources wisely, according to our core values: sharpening our services (excellence), rewarding our people (integrity), and using our abundance to bless others (benevolence).
Values > Action
On the latter investment, we’re thankful for the ongoing leadership of the Benevolence Committee. They keep the spirit of giving front and center by organizing service opportunities and educating employees about the organizations we support. In other words, “putting out the call.”
In 2023, our employees answered the call by:
- Helping with “Distribution Day” at our local Midwest Food Bank (This is when food pantries, churches, and other non-profits come to pick up the food and take it to the actual distribution points). In addition to the joy of giving, our employees got a little taste of what it’s like to work at a shipper facility 😉. In total, we sent five teams and 25 employee-owners throughout the year.
- Flipped the script – Midwest Food Bank came to us with their portable “Tender Mercies” meals assembly line! We enjoyed volunteering in groups of 6-8 and completed 6,260 meals!
Nussbaum is also privileged to financially support organizations that share our values of faith, family, and making a positive impact with every interaction. These include LifeSong for Orphans, Joni & Friends, Home Sweet Home Ministries, and Focus on the Family.
The Spirit of the Season
